Objective

To ensure compliance of all matters related to irrigation and drainage infrastructures.

This Unit will perform the following activities:-

(i) Facilitate quality of construction, rehabilitation and supervision of irrigation and drainage infrastructure for compliance to standards and specifications;

(ii) Inspect, examine or survey land in connection with planning, design or construction of an irrigation and drainage system or extension to or alteration of an irrigation or drainage system;

(iii) Inspect performance of existing irrigation and drainage infrastructure and effectively communicate for remedies;

(iv) Provide inputs for preparation of policies and strategies on irrigation and drainage development;

(v) Inspect the quality of construction, rehabilitation and supervision of irrigation and drainage infrastructure to ensure compliance to standards and specifications;

(vi) Inspect, examine and survey land in connection with planning, design or construction of an irrigation and drainage system or extension to or alteration of an irrigation or drainage system;

(vii) Inspect the performance of existing irrigation and drainage infrastructure;

(viii) Communicate effectively instructions for remedies of damaged and non- performing irrigation and drainage infrastructures; and

(ix) Propose stop orders against malpractice in respect of irrigation and drainage infrastructure.
